Boiler Room, the globally renowned platform for broadcasting live electronic music performances from around the world, has officially chosen to spotlight Singeli music in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for the very first time
This milestone follows a global call by Boiler Room inviting music event organizers from across the world to submit proposals aimed at persuading the platform to visit their countries and collaborate in capturing and streaming local music experiences to a worldwide audience.
Answering that call was Abbas Jazza, a Tanzanian music stakeholder and cultural advocate, who successfully pitched the unique and vibrant culture of Singeli music. His proposal convinced Boiler Room to bring their cameras and platform to the heart of East Africa to document and showcase the energy of this fast-paced, youth-driven genre

During their visit, Boiler Room collaborated with local Singeli artists to record exclusive live performances. These sessions will be streamed on Boiler Room’s global platforms, giving the artists a rare opportunity to express themselves creatively, reach international audiences, and elevate the recognition of Singeli on the world stage.
In Tanzania, Singeli is one of the most beloved and influential music genres, particularly among the youth. The genre has provided economic and social empowerment to many young artists, offering them a voice and a platform for expression. Its rapid beats, raw storytelling, and deeply Tanzanian roots continue to capture attention across borders.
By partnering with local talent in Dar es Salaam, Boiler Room not only brings Singeli to a global audience but also celebrates the cultural richness and originality of Tanzanian urban music.
